Fuck COVID!

Content warning: Doomerism and COVID

I hate COVID. I hate that it's a thing. I hate how we've more or less given up on it as a society. I hate how if you take precautions, you're seen negatively. People will tell you that it's just like the flu. People just shrug it off and carry on because we have to 'Let the good times roll'.

You'd think after four years, everyone would have the record straight. Nope. In fact, most people still don't know the basics. It's way worse than most imagine and we have no answer for it. For most, they won't start taking it seriously until they themselves or someone they love is struck with Long COVID or worse. I hate that. No one should need to suffer before we work to protect each other.

The failure of society to tackle COVID is also a sign of how society is going to tackle pretty much anything coming. Every issue, every disaster, every problem we are going to face - well, just apply how we tackled COVID. We'll likely end up trying too little, too late before people whine about having to wear a mask, shrug it off, give up and stop caring until it hits home for them.
